The A Level Health & Social Care course will give you an opportunity to gain a solid understanding of your chosen job professions.  The course will give you the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised level 3 qualification, developing your transferable skills such as analytical writing, the ability to synthesise knowledge and personal organisational skills.

Supplies Needed:

You will need an A4 folder/s, lined paper, subject dividers, general stationary (pens, pencils), and a memory stick would be very helpful.

Course Content:



Unit 6 – Practitioner Roles

  • You will research 2 different job roles from contrasting sectors.  
  • You will analyse your own aptitudes, personality and skills
  • You will evaluate the job roles in terms of how they compare to each other and how you are suited to each role.


Unit 7 – Food & Fitness

  • You will learn about the roles of the different food groups in keeping people fit.
  • You will about different conditions that can be prevented or controlled through diet and exercise
  • You will learn about the role of homeostatic mechanisms in keeping people fit and healthy



80 marks

These will be completely dependent on the job roles you choose to research.  You will have to commit and be expected to carry out your own in depth research into each of the required areas for your chosen job role.
