Antibullying at KBA
We know that, unfortunately, bullying can and will occur during a student’s time at school. We also know this can be very upsetting for anyone involved. We want all students to feel safe, supported and happy at school, so we have relaunched our Antibullying campaign.
We are a “Telling School” which means we will always trust the information that is reported to us until we have evidence to believe otherwise. We investigate everything that is reported to us, and we support victims of unkind behaviour throughout this process.
We have several ways to report worries or concerns to us:
- Talking to a member of staff e.g. your form tutor, your head of year, a member of duty staff or any of your teachers
- Using the Report A Concern email address reportaconcern@kba.uk
- Use the Student Voice box at student reception (ask the student receptionists for a card to post)
If you want to read more about our anti-bullying policy, it be accessed via this link Policies | School Information | Kettering Buccleuch Academy
As part of our Antibullying strategy we have recruited a new team of Antibullying Ambassadors. These students will be trained via The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Programme so that they can support students by being a shoulder to lean on, someone to talk to or by acting as a mentor for both the victims and perpetrators of bullying behaviour.
The photos below show some of our new ambassadors in their first training session alongside their testimonies about their experiences so far. If you are interested in becoming part of this team, email Mr Thres jaredthres@kba.uk

Reasons students wanted to become an anti-bullying ambassador:
1 – To help other students in the academy
2 – Have been bullied themselves
3 – Want to have a role at the academy and have an impact
Student testimonies about their ambassador training so far:
“I got to talk to other students I didn’t know”
“I learnt information about what bullying is and the different types of bullying”
“I am clearer about what being an upstander is”
“It was fun and I got to share my ideas”
