If you're passionate about inspiring young people and making a difference through education, our school offers the opportunity to train to teach through United Teaching National SCITT, rated 'Exceptional' by Ofsted in all areas.
United Teaching offers a school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) programme, providing aspiring teachers with the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to become confident and successful classroom teachers. From day one, you'll be immersed in school life, learning alongside experienced teachers while receiving expert training, mentoring and support throughout the year.
As a trainee, you'll become part of our staff team and gain hands-on classroom experience from the very start of the programme. You'll benefit from:
The United Teaching programme leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in one year, with the option to also achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in partnership with the University of Bath, giving you both practical classroom experience and a recognised academic qualification.
You can choose from either a salaried and fee-paying route, depending on your circumstances and eligibility. Funding support may be available through bursaries, scholarships and student finance.
Throughout the year, you'll receive personalised support from:
You'll also complete a three-week placement in a second school, helping you gain experience in a range of educational settings.
