French, Spanish and German are all available at A Level. Studying an A level in a language is ideal for students who have a passion for further study after GCSE. Students will build on their knowledge of the language through speaking, reading and listening tasks, as well as deepen their understanding of either French, German or Spanish society. Students will also gain an insight into the culture of different French, Spanish or German-speaking countries. Students follow the Pearson Edexcel specification, and will cover the following themes:

• Theme 1: The Changes in Society
• Theme 2: Culture, traditions, music and Media in French, German and Spanish speaking countries
• Theme 3: Immigration and multiculturalism
• Theme 4: Historical element: France during WW2/ East Germany before the reunification/ Spain under the dictatorship.
