Students will study the AQA A level Chemistry course (7405).  This course covers aspects of chemistry which build on the core ideas covered at GCSE.  The main sections of the course are:

  • Physical chemistry
    • Bonding
    • Thermodynamics
    • Kinetics
  • Inorganic chemistry
    • Periodicity
    • Properties of elemental groups
  • Organic chemistry
    • Introduction to key organic compounds
    • Analysis of organic compounds
    • Organic synthesis
