BTEC AAQ Level 3 Early Childhood Development – Teaching from September 2025

In the Level 3 Early Childhood Development course, students will learn how children grow, develop, and learn from birth to age eight. They will explore key theories of development, understand the importance of play, and learn how to support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs. The course also covers safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practice, ensuring students understand how to keep children safe and promote wellbeing. Through a combination of classroom learning and practical experience in early years settings, students will develop the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed to plan activities, observe children’s progress, and reflect on their own practice—preparing them for further study or careers in childcare, education, and related fields
