Applications to the KBA Sixth Form

If you have applied for a place at the KBA Sixth Form for the new academic year, thank you. Following your interview with a member of the Sixth Form team, you will have received your conditional offer letter and hopefully confirmed acceptance of your place by returning the reply slip to the Sixth Form team.

I wanted to reassure you, that your place at the KBA Sixth Form has been reserved for you. Your place is guaranteed, dependant on you meeting the general and subject entry requirements from your generated GCSE grades which will be published on 20th August 2020.

This section of the website relates directly to our Sixth Form, specifically for our new Year 12 cohort. It will be here that we will publish further details of pre A Level lessons and work that you will be required to complete which will help to prepare you for your next steps, subject choices and gain entry to the KBA Sixth Form. These lessons will help to fill any gaps due to missed time at school and to make sure that you are ready to start your chosen A Level courses. There will also be information on the following, which will be vital to your success as an A Level student and beyond:

  • Details of how you can start to prepare your personal statement for university applications and how to research the best universities and courses for you.
  • A Level and degree subject specific online courses and tutorials.
  • Details about the Extended Project Qualification and some tasks that you could start working on before you start Year 12.
  • Details about the huge range of free online courses that will boost your subject knowledge, develop your specialisms and enable you to have proficient conversations during university/apprenticeship and job interviews.

We will also ensure that we fully communicate the plans for GCSE Results Day with you.

I would also like to remind you of the business dress code which you are required to wear as a member of the KBA Sixth Form and I have included a copy of the dress code letter below which has further details and guidelines.

If you have any questions about your place at the KBA Sixth form, your subject choices or you require another copy of your conditional offer letter with reply slip, please feel free to email me at samrao@kba.uk. Similarly, please also get in touch if you would still like to apply for a place in our Sixth Form.

We are all very excited to welcome you into the KBA Sixth Form as our new Year 12 cohort and in the meantime, please stay safe.

Miss Sam Rao
