Friends Association

Due to the pandemic over the last 18 months, we have been unable to run events.  We are now looking forward to getting back into organising some new and exciting ways of raising extra funds for the school.

The Friends of Kettering Buccleuch Academy has been running now for a number of years, during which time, as a group of enthusiastic parents, grandparents and staff have raised over £8000.

Our aim is to organise fun-filled events that all of the family can enjoy whilst, at the same time, raising money to fund equipment and resources which add value to the experience of students at the academy.  These events have included an Easter egg hunt, summer fayre, Christmas fayre and a circus.  We also run regular discos and organise the sale of refreshments at many academy events.

How can you help?

As a parent/carer of a pupil at the academy you are automatically a member of the Friends Association, however if you would like to be more involved please speak to a member of the committee or contact us. All members are welcome to attend our meetings which are normally held at the school at 6pm on selected dates.  Upcoming meeting dates will be published below.

If you are unable to attend our meeting but would still like to be involved, there are many ways in which you can.  Maybe you can man a stall at our fairs, wrap Christmas presents or collect raffle prizes, there are many ways in which you can help.  We would love to welcome some new faces.

Copies of our meeting minutes can be found here:

What have we spent your money on?

Our most recent purchases include benches for Secondary outdoor areas, goal nets for the sports centre and reading books & dictionaries for KS2. We have also helped fund the Community Garden in the Primary playground.

We are open to suggestions on how to spend money raised, so if you have any ideas please get in touch.
