Whole Academy Curriculum

We have taken advantage of our unique position as an all-through school to design a coherent curriculum from reception right through to the sixth form. In each subject, we plan for gradual acquisition of knowledge and skills, and ensure that pupils revisit prior knowledge so that it remains secure using our customised knowledge organisers. We serve a disadvantaged community, with low rates of progression to higher education, but firmly believe that background should not be a barrier for any of our students. We offer a traditional academic curriculum which is challenging and broad for all, as well as being in line with local independent and selective schools. The proportion of pupils taking the EBacc has increased significantly, but we are equally proud of our pupils’ ongoing success in music, art, drama and sport. This is leading to an increasing number of students choosing Kettering Buccleuch Academy as their first choice school and increasing numbers going on to university and being a success.

Subjects which are taught from Early Years all the way to Year 13 have curriculum plans which can be accessed through the links below. If a subject is only taught in particular Key Stages then the curriculum plans can be accessed through the subject pages in the relevant areas of the academy website.
