Have you ever wondered why most children learn to walk before they learn to talk?

This is an exciting and challenging course that  will introduce you to the early years sector.

The early years sector focuses on the leaning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years and this course will show you an insight into the holistic development of the child.

Overview           The course is over two years and is predominantly coursework based, with an external assessed exam unit. 

This course covers three areas of children’s development

Component 1 - Supporting Children’s Growth and Development

Component 2 - Learning through play

Component 3 - Supporting Children to Play, Learn and Develop (external Exam). 

This course would support those students who are interested in child development and have a passion to see how children learn.

Structure            Three units will be completed over the course of Year 10 and year 11

The grades that can be achieved range from a Level 1 Pass, Merit or Distinction to a Level 2 Pass, Merit or Distinction and a Level 2 Distinction*
