Over a million students every year choose to study BTEC awards. The appeal is that they are vocational qualifications that allow students to learn by applying their understanding to work-related contexts. This will enable them to gain the skills they need for further study and employment. BTEC Tech Awards are specifically designed for schools to give students an understanding of the professional sector. They will undertake assignments and tasks as well as a task based assessment for component 3.
The course involves three components which are broken down as:
- Component 1 – Exploring enterprises (30% of the total course)
- Component 2 – Planning for and Pitching an Enterprise Activity (30% of the total course)
- Component 3 – Promotion and Finance for Enterprise (40% of the total course & externally assessed)
Students are awarded a grade of:
