Welcome to Kettering Buccleuch Academy
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
Kettering Buccleuch Academy aims to provide an excellent education to children and young people in Kettering and the wider local area. We seek to improve the life chances of all the children and young people we serve and make it our mission to bring out 'the best in everyone' - students, staff, parents and the community which we serve.
We hope that our website gives you an insight into life at Kettering Buccleuch Academy; our ethos, our culture, our expectations and values.
Our name reflects our strong links with the Duke of Buccleuch, whose family connection with Kettering stretches back for almost 500 years and remains very much alive today. We are delighted to be supported by the Duke’s estate and benefit from its experience in promoting education in this area.
Through being part of the United Learning group of schools, we can offer more to both staff and young people than any single school could offer alone. The growing range of outstanding group-wide activities that we can provide will mean that more young people will have truly exceptional and inspiring experiences. Already, we believe that our Group contains the most developed relationships and practical interaction between independent and state schools in the country, creating benefits for all the schools involved. As part of United Learning, Kettering Buccleuch Academy shares the objective of bringing out ‘the best in everyone’, enabling each student to become a balanced, happy and articulate person with intellectual freedom, confidence, compassion, integrity and a lifelong love of learning.
Our partnership with parents is important to us and we work hard to ensure that communication is open and positive. We know that to achieve the potential in our
students we need to be united in our approach.
This term we will be focussing, as ever, on academic progress and development as students in secondary years undertake exams, including mock exams for Year 11, 12 and 13 students. We will also be supporting National-Anti Bullying Week and BBC Children In Need as part of our commitment to nurturing positive relationships and supporting others. As we move towards the end of the term we will be inviting students, parents and members of our wider community to come and watch our production of 'Nun The Wiser' as well as more traditional performances closer to Christmas from younger children.
There is always something happening here at Kettering Buccleuch Academy. If you would like to come and see our 'academy in acton, please contact us to arrange a visit.
