KBA co-curriculum

Co-curriculum

What is the KBA co-curriculum?

This is a curriculum (offer) that provides further opportunities to ensure our students (and staff) can benefit from out of lesson experiences that are a key part in developing their character.

The co-curriculum is a combination of:

Enrichment opportunities – focus on discovering new interests or build on existing interests.

And

Super curriculum – focus specifically on helping provide further academic support.

Key Benefits of co-curriculum:

  • Development of Critical Skills: Encourages problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and communication—skills essential for life beyond school.
  • Extends Learning: Provides depth and breadth to the curriculum, allowing students to explore subjects and experiences in greater detail.
  • Broadens Interests: Inspires students to discover new passions and talents outside of their academic studies.
  • Strengthens School Community: Fosters a sense of belonging and shared purpose, contributing to a positive school ethos.
  • Enhances Employability: Builds transferable skills and experiences that are highly valued by employers and further education providers.
  • Supports Character Building: Promotes resilience, independence, and integrity—core values of Education with Character.
  • Boosts Academic Attainment: Research shows a clear link between participation in enrichment and improved academic outcomes.
  • Improves Well-being: Offers enjoyment, balance, and a sense of achievement, contributing positively to students’ mental health and happiness.
  • Increases Engagement: Makes school more enjoyable and meaningful, helping students feel more connected and motivated.
