Personal, Health, Relationships and Sex Education

At Kettering Buccleuch Academy, our Personal, Health, Relationships and Sex Education (PHRSE) curriculum plays a vital role in supporting students' personal development from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. Through a carefully planned and age-appropriate programme, students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to navigate the opportunities and challenges of modern life. Based around the key themes of Health and Wellbeing, Relationships, and Living in the Wider World, the curriculum helps young people make informed decisions, build positive relationships, maintain their physical and mental wellbeing, and become responsible members of society.

Our curriculum is delivered through dedicated lessons, enrichment opportunities and specialist input where appropriate. Topics are revisited and developed throughout each key stage, ensuring learning is progressive, relevant and responsive to the needs of our students. From personal safety, mental health and online wellbeing to careers education, financial literacy and preparation for adult life, PHRSE equips students with the tools they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

We are committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment where students can explore important issues, develop resilience, celebrate diversity, and learn to make responsible choices that will support their future success and wellbeing.
