KBA Students Receive Inspirational Talk From Guinness World Record Winner
KBA was delighted to welcome Hari Budha Magar to the academy on Wednesday. Hari is British military veteran from the world renowned Gurkhas and spoke to Year 9 about his life experience serving in the military, as well as successfully climbing the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. In doing so he entered the Guinness Book of Records as the first person in history to summit Everest with both legs amputated above the knees. His talk was an inspirational display of human fortitude and the power of the mind to overcome. Along with Year 9 students, our CCF cadets were also present to hear about how Hari successfully joined the Gurkhas - one of a few hundred in his year out of twenty thousand applicants - to leading his men in Afghanistan. Hari exemplified a number of our school values and explained to our students the importance of being the best version they can possibly be.
