Year 10 At least 1.5 hours per day

Teachers should aim to set one homework per week per option subject and for the core of English, Maths and Science that should take approximately one and a half hours per subject. Where at all possible students should be given a minimum of two days to complete a homework task. If redrafting or improving coursework is set this still needs to be recorded on Show My Homework. Likewise if revision is the homework set the teacher should be explicit about what type of revision needs to be undertaken and which topics it should cover. Students need to be encouraged to plan their work and balance the demands of each subject.

Years 12-13 Three hours per option subject plus a lesson review period during the school day per subject per week. This review period should be used to review the previous week’s lesson, skills taught and knowledge gained. Staff will detail the minimum to be covered on the online calendar as well as detailing the homework tasks.
