Primary Careers Day 2017

The academy held its annual Primary Careers Day on the 5th July for pupils in Years 4 and 5.

This event is part of the academy's drive to promote the importance of Careers education for students of all ages.

Students started their day with a version of the game show 'What's My Line' where visiting professionals were asked a series of questions and pupils had to guess their profession. The panel for this included a television presenter, a solicitor, a physiotherapist, a finance director, a media and communications specialist and a research scientist.

Students then attended a series of workshops looking at careers in healthcare, logistics, engineering, the police, armed forces and graduate professions.  The students behaviour throughout was exemplary and most of them rated the day 10/10 offering excellent reflection on what they learnt.

We were pleased to welcome guests from Knights of Old, Northants Police, University of Northampton, BBC Look East, Kettering General Hospital, Unilever, Maziak Compressor Service Limited, Wilson Browne Solicitors, Mahle Engineering and Medical Mavericks and thank them for giving up their time to support our students.
