New student intake information
Despite the current school closure due to COVID-19 we are busy getting ready to welcome our new Year 7 intake in September 2020. We do not yet know when schools will reopen and we are very aware that we have a number of transition events scheduled including visits to primary schools, induction day and uniform fittings which are likely to be delayed.
Please be reassured that, if we have any updates on when the school will be open and when our transition activities can recommence, we will let you know via letter. If there is any change to the start of the new school year on Thursday 3rd September we will let you know as soon as is possible.
If you scroll down this page you will find information about oure core values together with some frequently asked questions.
We held our first Town Hall Meeting for parents and carers of our new Year 7 intake on the evening of Monday 18th May. If you were unable to join this virtual meeting, or if you wish to watch it again, you are able to do so by clicking here. Once the video has loaded please be aware that Mr Di Salvo's presentation begins after 3:00 minutes.
We understand this is a very stressful time and we want to try and make the transition as easy as possible under the circumstances. If you have any further questions you think we could add to this page please email email@example.com.
Our Head of Year 7, Mrs Caroline Hawthorn, is also happy to answer any questions you have about your child starting with us. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org

Frequently Asked Questions
My child is nervous about starting secondary school. What can I do to help?
If your child is nervous about starting secondary school this is quite normal. We will do all that we can to help them to settle in quickly at Kettering Buccleuch Academy.
In the meantime you can visit the BBC Bitesize website with your child to help them prepare for life in secondary school.
Can I request which House my child goes in?
No – this is randomly allocated unless you already have another child at KBA who is a full sibling.
When will I know what house my child will be going into?
Once all the application forms are returned we will work on house allocation. This should be complete by the start of term 6 and letters will be posted out to you
If my child has a cousin or other family member apart from a sibling at KBA, will they go into the same House?
No – House allocation is by sibling link only. Children of staff who already work at the academy will also go into the same House.
My child has SEND needs – what information do I need to send to you/will you contact their primary school?
We are currently in the process of contacting all primary schools for any SEND information. If you would like to email anything to us please do so to email@example.com

We are not taking uniform orders at present but will notify you as soon as we are in a position to do so and let you know when the uniform sizing events will take place

Will my child automatically get FSM if they received them now (at primary school)?
You will have to apply at Northants County Council for free school meals for your child as this does not automatically roll over each year. Please do this at your earliest convenience to avoid any delay.
